Two Day Workshop on Researh Methodology Septmeber 2015

The objective was to help teachers and research scholars update their knowledge on Research Methodology and to gain expertise on SPSS (Statistical Package in Social Sciences) package. The Facilitator for the workshop was Dr.D.K.Lal Das, Former Principal of the college and a Social Work Researcher of International repute.

 

Faculty Development Program

To help teachers to become better teachers, better scholars and better members of the campus community and society at large, On April 8th 2015, a One day State level Faculty Development Program on ‘Current Trends in Teaching Methodology’ was organized in the college.

 

Time Management - Workshop

As Managing Time has become a crucial task to everyone in this fast moving complex world, The Roda Mistry College of Social Work has arranged for a Session on Time Management on 24th August,2015 in the college premises.

Renowed speaker Mr.N.Prkash Rao, CEO of VKS Associates based in New Jersey has given the session on "Time Management - Introduction to Bank Your Time". Session was attended by students from Bachelors & Master's courses, Faculty Members. Also present in the session were Mr.G.SanjayCEO from GKS Associates, Mr.Shiva Kumar, The Managing Director of ZEDiQ, Mr.Bindu Madhav, Social Entrepreneur.

 

International Yoga Day

In view of International Day of Yoga the college invited a yoga practitioner on 20th June,2015 and talk was given on the importance and the role of yoga for good health. The instructor demonstrated several Asana’s and the audience followed the same. The audience included members from the management, teachers, staff and students of the college.

 

Haritha Haaram

Stressing the importance of increasing green covers for the benefit of the future generation and for the protection of environment the college, in association with Rotract Club of RM Social Architects planted 100 saplings in the college premises on 07.07.15.

 

Distribution of Swine Flu Medicine

On 11.02.15 Swine Flu medicine was distributed in 8 schools in Chaderghat slum area for over 1500 students. On 10.02.15 Swine flu medicine was distributed in Aram Ghar , an Anadashram for elderly.

 

Installation of Rotract Club of Roda Mistry Social Architects

To provide an opportunity for BSW and MSW students, to enhance the knowledge and skills that will assist them in personal development to address the physical and social needs of their communities and to promote better relations between all people World wide through a framework of friendship and service, the club was officially installed on 30th January,2015 in our college.

 

Swach Bharath

As part of Swach Bharath Abhiyan initiated by Honorable Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the college organized a special cleanliness drive in the college premises and the surrounding area. on 1st November, 2014.

Prevention of Child Marriage

Child marriage in India has been practical for centuries. Regardless of its roots, child marriage constitutes a gross violation of human rights. MSW students of Family and Child Welfare specialization along with the faculty showed the usage to stop on the incident child marriage during their concurrent field work placement. This was well covered by press with photographs.

Women Sensitisation Program

Many programs were organized to sensitize different sections of women groups. A sensitization program for the Sex Workers who come once in a week and avail health related services from Lepra India, Tarnaka, Hyderabad was organized.


One of the faculty member addressed the sex workers and gave a motivational lecture. A special emphasis was made on their regular health checkup
