Counseling is an art and science. It’s a short term, interpersonal, theory based, helping profession. Its aim is to resolve developmental and situational difficulties. Unprecedented economic and social changes have, over the years changed the way we look into our lives and its challenges of modern times . Counseling helps to bring change in life: Change in Thinking; Change in emotions; and Change in behavior. It deals with personal, social, vocational, empowerment, and educational concerns and counselors work only in areas in which they have expertise. Counseling is a process in which clients learn how to make decisions and formulate new ways of behaving, feeling, and thinking.
Counselors focus on the goals their clients wish to achieve. It emphasizes on exploration and understanding the problem and stresses the idea of professional relationship and the importance of self determined goals (of course by the client). A professional counselor is a trained individual who is able to use different range of counseling approaches with the clients helping them to reduce confusion, ambiguity in thinking and allows the client to make effective decision leading to positive changes in attitude or behaviors .The ultimate aim of counseling is to enable to make decisions, reach their own decisions and to act upon them accordingly.

Course Objective:
- To produce counselors with a well-developed professional identity, including an understanding and appreciation of context, development, and strength-based therapies. - FRIDAY – 7 PM TO 9 PM
- SATURDAY - 10 AM to 1 PM.
- Recorded videos of classes will be uploaded in the WattsApp group on weekdays.
- Candidates can clear their queries on Friday online class from 7 PM TO 9 PM.
- Saturday – Regular Online classes.
Eligibility Criteria –Who can apply
- The course is open for the candidates interested in practicing counseling .
- Student with a graduate degree from recognized university.
- Target groups- In-service teachers / teacher educators / untrained guidance personnel/ school administrators, NGO personnel, HR personnel, health providers, Social workers, software employees and any graduate who is interested can apply.

Method:
- Continuous Assignments to assess the knowledge.
- Quiz at the completion of the each Unit .
- Rigorous training and sharing on a personal level.
- Much time is given to one to one counseling practice under supervision and group discussions. Role play, simulations, life skill education
Admission Procedure:
- Screening of candidates will be done by a committee following a selection criteria.
- Shortlisted candidates will take an online interview.

Certificate:
A certificate is offered which officially certifies that the trainee has actively participated in a training course in counseling from the College through the Osmania University.
Eligibility for certificate:
- Minimum 90% attendance. Punctuality at all sessions.
- Submission of homework assignments
- Minimum 60% scoring on the written test + Practical’s.
If a participant does not fulfill any one of the above criteria, he/she is not eligible to receive the certificate.
